We are a fast growing biotechnology company based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that provides cutting-edge computer-based imaging instrumentation and advanced informatics and bioinformatics software combined with cell biology solutions for the pharmaceutical industry to facilitate the process of new drug discovery. The successful candidate will assume a leadership role in the conception, research and development of novel fluorescent cell-based assays for our company's High Content Screening Systems.
Job Description: Lead a scientific team focused on developing fluorescent probes and biosensors with mammalian cells of all types to create novel, cell-based assay formats for our company's High Content Screening Systems. Plan group activities and independently execute research projects. Manage and maintain records: assay data, laboratory notebook. Utilize ArrayScan II High Content Screening System for assay development. Complete Assay Development documentation. Operate within an exciting collaborative environment that includes assay development, scientists, image algorithmists and bioinformaticists.

Requirements: Ph.D. or MS in Biology, Biochemistry, or Immunology. Three years experience in biological assay development. Experience in the biopharmaceutical or diagnostics industry preferred. Background in fluorescence microscopy advantageous. Strong skills in cell biology, molecular biology, and data analysis are important. Experience with the project management aspects of assay development such as timelines, milestones, and validation are a plus. Proficiency in word processing, database, data analysis and presentation programs is required.
